Fans of hit comedy ‘How I Met Your Mother’ will soon be able to listen to their favourite tunes from the show when a soundtrack is released in line with the premiere of Season Eight in America.

“This is the time to do it,” show co-creator and writer Craig Thomas told HitFix during a recent CBS press tour.

“We compiled everything. It's 20 tracks, 40 minutes of music. On premiere night, the soundtrack is going to go up on iTunes."

Fans can expect gems such as a full length version of the theme music, the ‘Puzzles’ theme song and a track from the musical episode called ‘Nothing Suits Me Like A Suit.’

"We are going to do a fully-produced version of the 'Bang-Bang-Bangity-Bang' song," Thomas added.

"Perhaps with a slight New Orleans theme."

And while HIMYM is gearing up for its eighth and potentially last season, the notoriously guarded Thomas gave TVLine a couple of titbits about what to expect for the new season.

“We jump further forward in that future wedding day…The glimpses of that future Barney/Robin wedding day have been really important to the story.”

“We blow [everything] out of the water in Episode 1. We jump further into that day and show you more information deeper into that wedding day that I think will blow some people’s minds. It’s really, really exciting.”

Whether we will get a song from Robin Sparkles on the album and how they are going to negotiate Barney’s wedding day is yet to be seen, but fans of the show have a lot to look forward to!
