According to Hollywood Reporter, the star of ‘Parks and Recreation’ has a freshly inked deal to write a novel due for release in 2014. The as-yet-untitled book is described by its publisher as “an illustrated, nonlinear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons.”
Poehler follows in the footsteps of her best friend and Golden Globes co-host Tina Fey, who penned the hilarious novel ‘Bossypants’ in 2011. She will be joining the ranks of other talented comediennes committing their wit to print, including ‘The Office’s Mindy Kaling who is currently starring in her own show, Sarah Silverman, and Lena Dunham, creator and star of ‘Girls’, who scored a $3.7 million advance on her upcoming book of essays.
Executive Editor Carrie Thornton of publisher ‘It Books’ said in a statement: “Amy’s intelligence, comedic genius, and care for her craft shines through everything she does, and I know that this book will be no exception,”
“To have the chance to work with an artist of this calibre is every editor’s great hope, and I can’t wait to see how this book evolves,” she enthused.
After a bumpy 2012, where the actress split from her husband of nine years Will Arnett, it looks like everything’s coming up Poehler in 2013!
