It’s swept the floor with a massive 16 Emmy Nominations, has a devoted fan-base worldwide, and has fortified, if not launched, the careers of many of its mainstays.

Now, ‘30 Rock’ star Dean Winters has spilled the secret to the show’s success – saying they are all indebted to Tina Fey.

Winters, who plays Liz Lemon’s man-friend Dennis Duffy on ‘30 Rock’, had a scare last year when his heart stopped after a bacterial infection caused him to collapse, and NBC New York writes that Fey was instrumental in bringing him back to the set.

“Tina Fey is the most caring woman I’ve worked with in this business” he said.

“When I was going through a really hard time she pulled me out, and I have a debt of gratitude to her I’m not sure I can ever repay.

“Life was rocking and rolling for me and then it just stopped. So now I’m learning how to press the play button again.”

He added: “I learned what love is and what friendship is and those are things I think I took for granted for a while,”

“Whatever I went through in this past year, it was worth it.”
