Reboot and strap yourself in for the fourth instalment of the super-charged Mission: Impossible series.
When a terrorist bombing at the Kremlin re-ignites tension between the Russian government and the United States, the blame is placed on the entire Impossible Mission Force and they are shut down. ‘Ghost Protocol’ is evoked and Ethan Hunt is left with his small team, a limited cache of gadgets and no support in their attempt to find the real culprits.
Tom Cruise is larger than life as he reprises the role of Hunt - and all without a stunt double. You will truly understand this better if you catch the film in an IMAX theatre. The sequence in which he’s dangling off the side of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, will push your heart into your mouth.
Tom is joined by Jeremy Renner of ‘The Hurt Locker’ - a gun-shy agent struggling to get back into the swing of things - while Paula Patton ably fills the shoes of the hardcore hot chick. However, the best dialogue in the film goes to Brit comic Simon Pegg (his biggest action sequence is co-ordinating a fake arm and answering a text message!) It is his wit, timing and general geekiness that make the scenes between the explosions and chases worth watching.
'Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol' will take you on a rollercoaster ride through exotic locations across the globe. Your adrenaline will be pumping, you’ll have a few laughs and your head will be left spinning from the scale of it all.
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is in cinemas from December 15.
