Actor Oscar Nunez, who also stars in the hit-rating comedy show, doesn’t think it’s worth carrying on without Steve on the helm.
The actor told TV Guide “It’s been a funny show, but enough with it already.”
“I’m surprised we were able to make it wonderful for as long as we did. God bless our writers.”
Earlier this week Carell confirmed speculation that he was intent on leaving the show when his contract ends after the forthcoming seventh season.
Carell said he wouldn’t like a big fuss made over Michael Scott’s departure but Nunez offered an alternative idea:
“Suicide makes sense,” he said! “He should hang himself in the office. Just end in a really dark way.”
Michael has already pretended to hang himself, so if he did, he’d probably be left hanging there for a fair few hours! Dark indeed.
Nunez also pooh poohed the idea of Ricky Gervais stepping in to fill the void.
“Ricky Gervais did his version and is done. Artistically, we should leave the show alone without Steve. But economically if NBC can get someone else to come in, of course they’re going to try.”
What say you? Enough is enough? Or could it continue à la Scrubs without its main character?
